As Catholic  Christians and followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that charity and justice must be integrated into who we are, what we do, and how we order our lives.  To that end we offer a variety of opportunities and resources for formation, reflection, action and outreach:

Habitat for Humanity – Each year, St. Cecilia’s partners with St. Frances Cabrini, Prospect Park United Methodist Church, and Habitat for Humanity to build or rehab a home.  As Habitat’s mission states, we aim to eliminate poverty housing and make safe and affordable housing a matter of conscience.

Again, this year, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity wants all volunteers, except food preparers and food servers, to fill out the Volunteer Liability Waiver, and bring the form to the site each day that you work. For more information or to register click here.

Project Home
– Each summer St. Cecilia parishioners work with area churches to provide temporary shelter for homeless women and children.

Loaves and Fishes – St. Cecilia’s prepares and serves a hot meal at the Dorothy Day Center six times each year: the second Wednesday of February, April, June, August, October, and December.   For more information contact the parish office at 651-644-4502.

Keystone Congregations – We are members of a group of area churches who support Keystone Family Services in in areas that include assistance with utility bills, rent, food, etc.

Food Shelf Collection – Our parish sponsors a monthly food shelf collection and donates the proceeds to the Keystone Food Shelf in Merriam Park.  Food items and cash donations are always appreciated.

Clothing Collection
– Clothing donations are always accepted and delivered to Joseph’s Coat and/or Hallie Q. Brown.

Just Faith – St. Cecilia’s participates in the national Just Faith program as one way to educate ourselves about worldwide justice issues including immigration, hunger, fair trade, trafficking, housing, economic disparities, etc.  and how to respond to them.
